Travel instructions
Please try to find a cheap flight and confirm your flight plans and budget with Siegfried Kiefer (siegfried.kiefer@phlinz.at). You are expected to arrive on Sunday, June 19th, and leave on Friday, June 30th. Those of you who would like to stay longer in our country, should find and finance their accommodation after June 30th by themselves.
Getting to Tallinn
By plane
Tallinn Airport can be reached by few air carriers: Estonian Air (associated with SAS & Star Alliance), SAS, Lufthansa, Finnair (Aero Airlines), Czech Airlines, EasyJet (only from London and Berlin), RyanAir - (only to Riga and from there you can come to Tallinn with Airbaltic).
We are trying to pick each of you up at the airport upon your arrival, but if we miss you, just take a taxi. Taxi ride from airport to the city center costs about 7-8 EUR.
By boat
If you decide to fly to Helsinki, then you can take a bus from Helsinki-Vantaa airport to the city center and then continue towards Tallinn on the ferry:
- fast ferries (1,5 h) Silja Line, Nordic Jet Line, LindaLine (all three from South Harbor in the heart of the city), Tallink (from West Harbor - Länsisatama - which is further away from the city center),
- slow ferries (3,5 hours, but nice cruise ships with entertainment): Tallink, Eckerö Line, Viking Line.
You can also fly to Stockholm and take a ferry from there (but we'd suggest to use instead a cheap flight by Estonian Air or FlyNordic):
- Tallink, Silja Line (via Helsinki)
If you would like to connect your LEARN experience with a trip to Russia, you could take a boat to/from St. Petersburg:
- Tallink, Silja Line
